The Pulaski County Special School District is pleased to announce the opening of the APT Center (Assisting People in Transition). The APT Center provides specialized intervention and treatment services that promote health, emotional and social wellness for students and their families. The center is located at the PCSSD Learning Academy, 708 East Dixon Rd., Little Rock, AR 72206 . School Counselors, Home School Counselors and Nurses will make referrals to the Homeless Liaison or the Facilitator of Health Services.

The District’s philosophy of education, goals and objectives was adopted by a Board of Education in 1981 (see Board Policy Manual, Code ADA ). Since that time, the District’s goals and objectives have been revised twice, with the most recent manual adoption occuring February 8, 2000. Past Boards have established goals to guide the administration in developing specific, system-wide objectives to provide standards for a quality educational program.

In light of the recent events in the District - the take-over by the State Board of Education, fiscal distress and renewed negotiations for upcoming contracts - a Personnel Policies Committee (PPC) for Classified Staff has been established.
