Description

The Contra Costa Jewish Day School provides a full-day elementary school curriculum, featuring accelerated academics in math, science and language arts. The low student-to-teacher ratio, with full-time classroom assistants, insures that all students are taught to their individual levels. Studies include Art, Music and Drama, as well as Hebrew language and Jewish ethics. CCJDS has an after-school enrichment program with a variety of courses, and extended care is available. CCJDS emphasizes joy in learning and the transmission of knowledge as a social bond. This sense of family is extended through activities that connect classwork to the larger community through character-building and community service activities. One cornerstone of The School's educational agenda is Tikkun Olam ("Healing The World"). Students learn the value of service through a variety of outreach projects. The School also enjoys an active and engaged student family community with many extracurricular social events.
