Description

Cedar Works was founded in Adams County by Jim Obenshain in 1976. The availability of aromatic red cedar in the area made it an ideal location for our company. Fencing was one of the first items produced, but mailbox posts later became the mainstay of the business. Sales gradually expanded from local hardware stores to regional hardware chains.collection, a group of mailboxes, posts, address numbers and other accessories added in 1987. In the late 80's, our products were sold in many hardware and home center stores east of the Rockies.Cedar Works built a new production and warehouse facility in 1988 outside of Peebles, Ohio. A new product line, bird feeders and bird houses, combined with sales to new outlets brought much growth.
