For more than 60 years, individuals with disabilities and their families in the Capital Region and Northeastern New York have been able to turn to the Center for Disability Services when seeking progressively diverse and quality care. The Center began in 1942 as a small nursery school for children with cerebral palsy, but has grown into a regional provider to thousands of people with 300 different physical, neurological, cognitive, and medical disability diagnoses. The Center now reaches out across New York to 37 counties, as well as to several neighboring states, offering care that can frequently be found nowhere else. At the same time, the Center emphasizes the health and well-being of each individual while remaining committed to an independent lifestyle, rich with opportunities for the people it serves.
