The University of Dayton Center for Competitive Change has been a leader in educating the lean enterprise since 1988. At that time we launched a three-day manufacturing conference that brought together - for the first time in the United States - thought leaders and executives from national manufacturing companies. We quickly became known as a premier conference provider. In 1989, the University of Dayton became the first university in the nation to conduct a Kaizen program with Shingijutsu's master, Chihiro Nakao. The University promptly trained many of its faculty in Kaizen and began to offer public and private Kaizen Programs. During the 1990's, the Center for Competitive Change parlayed its growing reputation in the industry by offering public seminars and workshops on lean manufacturing, visual workplace, and other leading-edge topics in manufacturing.
