Otolaryngology (pronounced oh/tow/lair/in/goll/o/jee) is one of the oldest medical specialties. Otolaryngologists are trained in the management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat, (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. They are commonly referred to as an ENT surgeon. An ENT surgeon only starts practicing after completing 15 years of college and post graduate training.
