Anchor Abrasives is a privately held company and was formed in 1971. Founder, Frank Shoemaker is credited for naming the company after the system for anchoring nut inserts into the nonusable portion of the disc. Our staff has been analyzing disc-grinding operations and formulating discs since the early 1950's. Today, we are leaders in state-of-the-art formulation and manufacturing of double discs, cylinders, centerless and roll wheels .

At Anchor Abrasives we specialize in the design and manufacture of resin, epoxy and oxychloride bonded nut-inserted discs and cylinders, recently adding resin bonded centerless and roll wheels. We are a highly skilled team that devotes maximum effort in the development, manufacture, and application of these very specialized products. Changing manufacturing methods, closer tolerances, and material specifications demand a supplier whose abrasives can evolve with these changes.

Anchor specializes in designing and manufacturing nut-inserted discs and cylinders from 8” to 72” in diameter. Anchor disc and cylinder wheels are custom formulated to each job. Job-matching our products allows Anchor to meet or often exceed our customer’s disc grinding requirements. Anchor resin bonded discs are formulated for both wet and dry grinding and can be found on most single or double disc grinders. Anchor epoxy bonded discs are formulated to be much more resilient than our resin bonds.

Anchor representatives are factory trained specialists who are knowledgeable in all phases of grinding operations, including machinery, production rates, fixture design, head settings, machine maintenance, dressing techniques, coolant and filtration systems and machine maintenance. Our experienced sales engineers are available to meet your needs. We offer in-house training for your operators, supervisors and engineers on the proper use of our products and can answer questions pertaining to your applications.
