Central Tools' history began in 1908 as a factory making machinery to form gold dental caps. The founder of the company then invented a unique digital micrometer with the first patents issued in 1912. This began the company's transformation to a precision measuring tool manufacturer.

In 2012 Central acquired the assets and brand name of Moody Tools. The Moody name is synonymous with premier precision hand tools and miniature screwdrivers used by technicians and hobbyists. To this day, Central continues its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as a family owned company. Honesty and integrity are key words used throughout the entire organization. Central Lighting manufactures a variety of fluorescent work lights for many applications. Most are available on reels.
