While Challenger Technologies itself is a relatively young firm, its principal partners have a long history in the telecommunications field with almost fifty years of combined experience. Carl Wesolek spent nearly twenty-five years with Continental Cablevision and its successor, MediaOne. During his tenure in the Lansing, Michigan, system, Carl's responsibilities varied from coax splicer to Residential and Commercial Installation Manager, and culminating with him becoming Construction Manager for both Lansing and Jackson. As Construction Manager, he oversaw the rebuilding of Lansing's 1500 miles of coax and 450 miles of fiber-optic plant. Prior to co-founding Challenger, Carl spent almost four years as Vice President of Operations for International Cable & Telephone. While there, he was in charge of all construction operations for the company covering the installation and maintenance of both coax and fiber-optic wide area networks for several CATV and telecommunications firms.
