Description

Don is chair of the Nonprofit Law Group at the Philadelphia law firm of Montgomery, McCracken, LLP. He has worked with nonprofit organizations of all types and sizes, helping structure start-up situations and restructure multi-organizational foundations, health and educational systems. He counsels on a wide range of corporate, governance, tax, real estate, charitable giving and other nonprofit issues. Mr. Kramer has more than 40 years of experience dealing with the concerns of nonprofit organizations, not only as a lawyer, but also as a teacher, writer, publisher, and board member.

When you serve a mission for the public good, the confidence the public places in you to achieve your mission is critical. Nonprofits need to choose their board members wisely. The mission and the client base are the key elements to a nonprofit’s existence and should determine how best to proceed; the best interests of individual board members are secondary. There are many nonprofits in need of good board members. Just because a lawyer with a particular client base may not be a good fit for one of them should not be seen as an indictment of his or her character.

Dr. Reid A. Zimmerman has over thirty years’ experience in the social sector, having served as an executive director, vice president of development, communications director, and board member for a number of organizations in Minnesota. A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Reid has extensive experience in fundraising, organizational development, strategic planning, program evaluation, and performance management.

I have been a nonprofit manager for over 23 years. In addition to actual workplace experience, I have advanced education in nonprofit management and an MBA and a professional certification in fundraising. My experience includes work in arts, animal welfare, education, and human service.

Stacie Harting Marsh, GPC has over a decade of experience working with hospitals and health care systems, municipal corporations, higher-education institutions, and community-based organizations. Her consulting practice, Words for Good , focuses on population-level program planning and multi-million-dollar federal grants in the health care industry, in addition to a new service line helping health care providers comply with new barriers and opportunities related to the Affordable Care Act. The firm has raised nearly $33 million in grant awards since 2006.
