Parkview Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for its Orthopedic Knee and Hip Replacement program by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for quality and safety in disease-specific care. The certification award recognizes Parkview’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards. Parkview’s Orthopedic Knee and Hip Replacement Program, known as the Joint Center, opened in August 2006 and is the first program of its kind to receive a Gold Seal of Approval south of Denver.

The Medical Center was incorporated as a Colorado nonprofit corporation in 1983 for the purpose of conducting the day-to-day operations of the hospital facilities. Parkview Medical Center receives tax-exempt status pursuant to section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and public charity status pursuant to section 509 (a) (1). A nonprofit organization is exempt from income tax and property tax for the activities that relate to the reason they have been given that status.
