Description

The Trip: What to Expect / What to Bring General Info: Your trip will usually begin at first light. This may change depending on season and weather pattern. You will be asked to sign a Liability Waiver. I prefer to wade fish as it can be more productive. However, for those who prefer to fish from the boat, I can accommodate you. I practice Catch and Release, but if you wish to keep a few fish, that's fine. I will clean and bag your catch for you. What to Bring: Texas Fishing License with Saltwater Stamp Sunscreen Polarized Sunglasses Hat Wading Boots Lunch or Snacks drinks, especially water. I can provide a small ice chest if needed. Equipment: For Fly Fishing trips, I recommend you bring your own gear if you have it. Most fishermen have a "favorite" rod. A seven to nine weight rod with floating redfish taper or forward floating line is sufficient. A reel with the capability of 100 yards of backing and a good drag system is also a plus since the Redfish are strong! A tapered leader with 12-16 pound tippet is sufficient. I will provide any flies, but you may bring your own. Spinning & baitcasting gear: I do enjoy fishing with lures and live bait. I have quality spin & baitcasting gear I can provide for you or you may bring your own. 12-15 pound test line is recommended on all conventional gear. Shrimp, croaker, and mullet are the baits of choice. Location: The areas I fish are primarily the Middle Coast areas near Rockport , TX; The Aransas Bay complex, Redfish Bay, and South in the Yarborough Pass area.
