Description

Chateau Benoit was one of the historical estates that pioneered wine growing in Oregon's Wil lamette Valley, In 1979 Fred and Mary Benoit es tablished their vineyards in the hills between La fayette and Carlton. With their retirement in 1999, they sold the his toric Chateau Benoit property to Robert and Marilyn Pamplin. Dr. Pamplin had his own wine making vision and chose to take the winery in a new direction, with world-class Pinot Noir as the goal. To accomplish this, he refitted the old win ery with state-of-the-art equipment and sought out the finest vineyards. To highlight this new mission, he renamed the winery Anne Amie Vine yards after his two daughters. Today at Anne Amie Vineyards, we have main tained the original stained glass windows of Chateau Benoit at our entry way as a tribute to the Benoit family and their contributions to making the Willamette Valley a world-famous wine pro ducing region and to mark the historic location of Chateau Benoit. We have also kept this important name alive by continuing to release wines under the Chateau Benoit label. Our goal with the Chateau Benoit brand is to make delicious, reasonably priced wines for everyday pleasure. Our Chateau Benoit wines are designed to be ready to drink upon re lease, with fresh, forward fruit flavors. While it is a challenge to make world-class wine, it is also a challenge to make a great value, and we are proud of the charming wines we release under the Chateau Benoit label.
