Description

Your healthcare needs - and the healthcare needs of your family, neighbors and colleagues - help to determine the services we provide today. Generations before you inspired us to grow from a small local hospital to a community medical center. Our future plans are based on your changing health care needs, as well as those of your children and their children.

The Luminaries began in 1990, with a small group of women from the Palos Verdes Peninsula wanting to support Torrance Memorial Medical Center with their time and fundraising efforts, as well as dedicated to fostering the volunteer spirit in youth through NOVAs. Children of active Luminaries can join NOVAs, a high school volunteer program.

For over 23 years, The Thelma McMillen Center has been helping South Bay adults, teens, and their families, successfully overcome the patterns of alcohol and drug abuse and addiction.

The Breast Diagnostic Center was founded in 1986 through the generous contributions of Vasek and Anna Maria Polak. The Polak family - fixtures in the South Bay community through charitable and business leadership - created the financial support necessary to found and continue our service to women's health.

Successful health care means changing lives for the better. But not just patients’ lives: At Torrance Memorial, we provide a positive, supportive and innovative environment that can help employees transform their own lives as well.
