Description

Chiarito Vineyard is a small-production artisan winery nestled in the benchlands of the eastern Ukiah Valley in Mendocino County. This year we released our Negro Amaro and Nero D'Avola wines - the premier U.S. release of both these wines. John Chiarito's first release, in May 2005, was our 2003 Negro Amaro an old world varietal widely grown in the Puglia region of Italy. Read our Negro Amaro press release and wine tech specifications. In August 2005, Chiarito Vineyard released its Nero D'Avola - the premier U.S. release of this famed Sicilian varietal, and only the second release for John Chiarito's new Mendocino County winery. Sicilian wines, and Nero D Avola in particular, are currently undergoing a renaissance, garnering critical acclaim from many wine world luminaries.
