The Guild of the Chicago Botanic Garden Founded in 1998, our membership comprises more than a hundred enthusiastic civic leaders from Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. We are committed to assisting the Chicago Botanic Garden by promoting it to a larger audience, raising funds for its support and providing services that advance the Garden's mission. We are very proud of the support the Guild has provided the Chicago Botanic Garden. We have raised more than $2.5 million and introduced hundreds of new friends to the Garden; we also hold the honor of being the first board to reach 100 percent participation in the first phase of the Campaign for the Chicago Botanic Garden. The Harvest Ball is the Guild's main fundraiser. We are proud to direct the proceeds of this evening to support the development of a brand new educational display garden designed by Mikyoung Kim, welcoming families of all backgrounds to the Garden. Your generosity towards the development of a brand new educational display garden helps to inspire lifelong interest in and passion for the natural world and the sciences, as well as respect for our environment.

Staff is experienced in providing professional consultation during the planning phase of a garden installation to assure maximum benefit and accessibility for the users of a specific garden. Our consultants will develop conceptual plans and provide a bridge to working with those who construct the garden.

The Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program is designed to provide professionals with experience in a compatible therapeutic or educational field with the required background to utilize horticultural therapy techniques with their clients. The program is accredited through Oakton Community College and earns a total of 12 credit hours. Classes are taught on-line with the addition of 2 full-time, week long immersion experiences at the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Come join the Illinois Orchid Society at its spring show and sale, in which individual orchids in 128 classes will vie for ribbons. Entries will receive "best of class" green ribbons, and the best-appointed plant in the show will receive the Chicago Horticultural Society Award from the American Orchid Society judges. Fourteen displays of orchids will be artistically arranged, and repotting services will be available. Families can take part in numerous orchid-based activities for children. Vendors will also be on-site to sell orchid plants and related products — cut flowers, cultural books, hobby bags of our special IOS potting mix, raffle tickets, and best of all, IOS memberships.
