Description
The Chief Seattle Club is currently the only social service center in Seattle devoted exclusively to meeting the needs of urban American Indians, Alaska Natives, and First Nations People. We operate from a shared space, The Lazarus Day Center, during early morning hours, providing a hot meal and access to resources and services in as much of a Native community environment as possible, in the heart of urban Seattle. Our offices, at 113 Cherry Street, are open from 8:30AM - 4:30pm and serve a variety of needs that families and low income people have. In addition to providing referral services, we provide clients with a space to make phone calls to tribal offices and families, receive mail, send and receive faxes, and seek help with identification requests, filling out housing applications and benefit forms for Social Security, the state welfare office, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
