Tammy has been committed to making a difference for children and families for more than 30 years. She is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing educational environment, based on the Montessori method and education for peace. Tammy's introduction to Montessori began at the age of 2 1/2 at Wee Wisdom Montessori School. She had wanted to start a school for young children as far back as she can remember -- except for the time when she was going to be a movie star or ballerina. Tammy has a deep belief that we can change our world through how we educate and care for our children. It is important to her that children know they are cared for, enjoy learning and have the means to develop to their fullest -- knowing they can make a positive difference in the world. She began Child’s View Montessori School for this purpose. Tammy began Child's View when her youngest daughter, who is now married, was 2 1/2. A few years later, her son was born and grew up at the school as well. She now has four incredible children in a blended family with her husband, Don. Creating and maintaining a strong family where each person feels loved, honored and nurtured is Don & Tammy's number one priority. For fun and relaxation she enjoys time spent with family and friends, the outdoors, camping, kayaking, scuba diving/snorkeling, tropical vacations, yoga and meditation. Tammy holds Montessori Teaching Certifications from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and the St. Nicholas Training Center for the Montessori Method of Education. She has her Master’s Degree in Human Studies, a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, and a Certificate of Achievement in Child Development-Montessori. Tammy is a past president of the Oregon Montessori Association and has served as Co-chair of the Oregon Season for Nonviolence Task Force.
