That is why it is so difficult to inform you that, after considerable deliberation, our Board of Directors decided that CCRC would not apply to the Department of Early Education and Care’s (EEC) new contract proposal for child care resource & referral services to begin January 1, 2013. This difficult decision was made in response to a number of changes and additional requirements in the new contract. These changes make it impossible to provide the services required by the EEC contract at the same level of quality we provide today.

For over 40 years, CCRC has been a dedicated provider of health care information, child care information & referral, voucher services, and professional assistance and training for child care providers. As the first Child Care Resource & Referral Agency (CCR&R) in Massachusetts, and one of the first in the United States, we are proud of the contribution CCRC has made to the field of Early Childhood Education.

Ultimately, this means that CCRC will stop providing family support and provider services on December 31, when our current contract with EEC ends. Until that time we are working closely with EEC and the new CCR&R agencies to ensure a smooth transition of our families and child care providers to their new service providers. CCRC will continue to manage a few local projects through June 2013 and will cease all operations entirely shortly thereafter.

For more than 40 years, CCRC has served as a source of information and support for families in Massachusetts. As the first Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) in the state and one of the first in the country, CCRC has helped to advance the field of Early Childhood Education as a national priority. Your commitment to our mission and involvement in our work has been invaluable to this success.
