Description
In 1977, in response to legislation guaranteeing a free and appropriate public education for Virginia's children with disabilities age 2 and older, the preschool began serving infants and toddlers. The agency's mission was expanded to include training for professionals.In 1978, the preschool won its first federal training grant - to replicate its family-centered model of services. The agency changed its name to Child Development Resources to reflect its newly defined purpose.In 1995, with help from a challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation and a caring community, CDR moved to a new, specially designed facility in Norge, VA.
