Description
Children Today is an advocate for the needs of children in a system that typically sees homelessness as a problem only affecting adults. The goal of Children Today is simple to increase the safety of children from homeless families and provide quality childcare services absolutely free of charge. Our first project, The Play House, opened its doors on June 15, 2000. Since its inception, The Play House has touched the lives more than 750 infants and young children. Through the generous support of our donors, we are very close to opening our second site, which will allow us to double the number of children we serve. The Play House is currently serving 32 children in need each day and more than 100 each year. In the years to come, as Children Today grows, we plan to undertake more projects to address the needs of at-risk children in the Long Beach area.
