The town of Oro Valley is located just north of Tucson at the foothills of the Santa Catalina and Tortolita Mountains. It was incorporated in 1974 and is today a thriving community recognized as one of "America's Top Rated Smaller Cities" by Grey House Publishing. It offers hiking and biking trails throughout the town, world class golf courses and is home to Sun City Oro Valley (originally called Sun City Vistoso), the Del Webb designed active adult community which spreads out over 1,000 acres. There are just under 2,500 homes in the Sun City Oro Valley community with over 4000 residents ages 45 and up. All the homes are one story ranging from 1000 to 2700 sqft with resale prices from the $100s to the mid $500,000.
