Christopher Freeman Adams is President and founder of Healthy Outcomes, Incorporated and a Principal with Community Initiatives . Adams provides facilitation, mediation and training to groups and organizations working at the intersection of health and community. He frequently writes and speaks on issues related to health and society, with a special emphasis on healthy communities. His clients include The Coalition for Healthier Cities and Communities, The Health Research and Educational Trust, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, The Health Forum, CDR Associates (a public policy mediation firm), and many hospitals. He has published more than 40 essays in publications including The Los Angeles Times, New York Newsday, The Christian Science Monitor, The San Francisco Chronicle and many others. Adams is the General Editor of Voices from America: Ten Healthy Community Stories from Around the Nation, published in November of 1998. He is currently the Principal Investigator for the nationwide Healthy Community Agenda. One of his recent major projects is a series of public dialogues on end-of-life issues that will explicitly address the relationship between palliative care and physician-assisted suicide. Prior to founding Healthy Outcomes, Adams was Director of The Center for Ethics and Social Policy of The Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. In 1997 he was a participant in the distinguished Conference on World Affairs at the University of Colorado, delivering five presentations on the theme "Values and Ethics in a Fragile World."
