Our history begins way back in 1955, when Webb Air Force Base Federal Credit Union (that was our name then) first opened its doors. Webb Air Force Base Federal Credit Union was chartered to serve the employees and the family members of Webb Air Force Base here in Big Spring, Texas. After the base closed, our charter was converted into a community credit union. At that time, in 1978, we also changed our name to Citizens Federal Credit Union.Today, the field of membership of Citizens Federal Credit Union is based on a common bond of people; this field of membership includes anyone that lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Howard, Borden, Glasscock and designated areas of Midland County, Texas as well as their immediate family members and business and other legal entities located therein.Citizens Federal Credit Union is not a bank. We're a progressive, full-service financial institution. We provide quality service as a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and democratically controlled by its membership. That means we're owned and run by our members to benefit our members. And we are guided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and volunteer committees.
