Carolyn Burlin has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Master's of Education in Early Childhood from Towson University, and has been a teacher for over 16 years. She began her career as an educator in the Baltimore City Public Schools teaching second and third grades at Woodhome Elementary School in Hamilton. She loves teaching kindergarten at City Neighbors and enjoys working with the families, staff, and broader community in such a vibrant, progressive, urban school.

Emily Snellings returns for an eighth year as the school’s social worker, providing counseling services and emotional and behavioral supports for our students. She graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor's in Social Work and then went on to University of Maryland, Baltimore where she received her Master's in Social Work, with a specialization in families and children. She is licensed in the state of Maryland as a clinical social worker. Prior to coming to CNCS, Emily worked for Villa Maria for six years as a psychotherapist for children and their families.

Kiley Wampler has over six years of classroom experience as an Assistant Teacher. Kiley studied Psychology at Penn State University and is currently working on her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She has a passion for working with children of all ages, but feels particularly lucky to work with Kindergarteners in a setting where their imaginations can thrive. In addition to working in the classroom, Kiley has a long history of working with children, which includes the creation of an after-school program for at-risk youth in Fort Collins, CO.

Joan Jones joined City Neighbors in 2011. She has been an educator for over 20 years and has taught Preschool, Kindergarten, First Grade and Third grade. She also spent three years as Academic Program Director at a private school in Montgomery County. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park and has a Master's Equivalency. She is very excited to be a member of the CNCS community and feels passionate about the value of an arts integrated, project based curriculum.

Monica O'Gara received her BA degree from Brown University, and Masters degrees from Bank Street College in New York and Boston University. She has worked with children and families in a variety of settings, including classroom teaching, early intervention programs, and child and family agencies. She has served as a clinical instructor and master teacher at a college-affiliated child development laboratory school. She is a founding teacher at City Neighbors Charter School. Monica and her husband moved to Maryland from New England in 1995 and have a daughter and son.
