Kenneth R. Rothe, P.E., Bill H. Ethridge, Jr., R.P.L.S., and John T. Kubala , R.P.L.S. founded CDS Muery in 1988 and established the corporate headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. As our client base and market area continued to grow, we expanded our firm's capacity by opening a new office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where we provide our clients with the same on-time, quality service.

Mr. Kubala is a Principal-in-Charge and oversees a specialized division within CDS Muery serving the energy industry. He provides a complete array of surveying services requiring highly trained and experienced professional surveyors and technical staff with diverse capabilities for high-voltage electrical transmission corridors, electrical distribution networks, electric power substation sites, and renewable energy generating sites. Mr. Kubala’s division serves clients throughout Texas and six other states providing these specialty services.

CDS Muery provided a solution that required design of 2500 LF of new roadway that followed a different alignment then the existing to provide better horizontal geometry to meet appropriate design speeds, centerline grades, and cross-section slopes for increased traffic volumes. The new roadway design by CDS Muery provided a wider roadway with a 4-lane section, curbing, and sidewalks to provide a more complete street access for vehicle traffic and pedestrians.

This power transmission line project from Tesla Substation to the Riley Substation is part of the CREZ power grid expansion throughout Texas. This electric transmission corridor traverses a distance of approximately 66 miles over three counties (Childress, Hardeman, & Wilbarger) in northern Texas. The 345 kV electric power transmission line required a 150 FT wide easement that involved the acquisition of over 108 property parcels, regulatory permitting to cross multiple federal, state and county roads, and railroad ROW.
