I was inducted into the Echo Valley Art Group this past year, a singular honor that I am very proud of. The group limits its invited artists to 25 thoughtfully nominated and established Lancaster County artists at any one time. Needless to say, I was humbled and immediately accepted the invitation to be included into the group of artists I admire and whose works represent the best that Lancaster has to offer. The group's yearly exhibition, titled "Flight", will be at Elizabethtown College in November. Check back for details. This year, the Echo Valley Art Group Auction will be held Sunday, Septemher 26 at Rader Park at Homestead Village on Marietta Avenue in Lancaster. THIS IS A NEW LOCATION for the auction, with easy in and out and plenty of parking. The park and village are located on Apostle Way off Marietta Avenue. The Village and road are clearly marked with signage and about 1/10 of a mile east of Good Drive. Check back for an update and watch e-mail for invitations. The current members of The Echo Valley Art Group are: Carol Anspach, Daniel Burns, Ann DeLaurentis, William F. Early, Hubert FitzGerald, Milton D. Friedly, Bruce Fry, James R. Gallagher, Carol Galligan, Jeff Geib, Claire Giblin, Susan Joy Gottlieb, Joann W. Hensel, Kenneth M. Hoak, Kenneth A. Kirsten, Robert A. Lyon, Carol L. Morgan, Richard Ressel, Peg Richards, Abby H. Rudisill, Carol Toner Shane, Scott Spangler, Ronald E. Sykes, C. Richard Whitson. Since the Group's inception in 1945, there have been a total of only 94 members, limited to 25 participating at any one time. You can imagine why I am so proud and the artwork at this exhibition should give you good reason to agree.
