The Cambridge law firm of Clark, Hunt, Ahern & Embry provides a full range of services to for-profit and not-for-profit special education schools and agencies, as well as to individuals with special needs and their families. This area of practice is a focus of our law firm and we provide comprehensive representation and counsel to clients throughout the Commonwealth. We also serve as general counsel to the vast majority of all the educational services providers in the Commonwealth, as well as to the trade organization to which all of them belong.

The firm was founded in 1983 by managing partner Bruce J. Embry as Burns, Clark and Embry. Although the name of the firm has changed in the intervening years, our dedication to our guiding principle has remained constant. Many of our attorneys have developed highly focused practices in niche areas such as real estate, disability law, special education law and construction law. As a result, we are known for providing legal services in areas not always available in other general practice law firms.

The Cambridge law firm of Clark, Hunt, Ahern & Embry has existed for over 25 years. Over the years, despite minor changes in the name of the firm, our commitment to providing personal service and fighting for favorable outcomes on behalf of our clients has remained constant.

Although we provide legal services in a wide range of practice areas , from business law to residential real estate, our firm is known for its focus on several specialty practices. These include special education law and disability law . In fact, a number of our lawyers have related experience in these areas, providing our clients with a unique understanding of their issues. For example, prior to becoming an attorney, partner Janine Brown-Smith was COO of the Cotting School.
