John Mize has been with the firm since 1975. He has nearly 35 years of experience in health care law and, although he is no longer doing litigation, he has tried over 25 jury trials to conclusion. He has considerable experience in all areas of health care law including risk management, peer review, corporate compliance, medical staff relationships, Medicare and Medicaid issues, health care information and information systems, all aspects of health care contracting, and health care organizational structures.

CLARK, MIZE & LINVILLE, CHARTERED is a full-service law firm owned entirely by its attorney shareholders and based in Salina, Kansas. The firm has been in existence in Salina since March 1946, when C.L. Clark and James P. Mize formed the original partnership. The firm consists of twelve attorneys and has carried an "A" rating with Martindale-Hubbell since 1947. The law partnership was incorporated as a professional corporation in December 1969 and the firm has been located in its present building since January 1971.

We successfully argued that the plaintiff failed to present evidence of a design defect in the product. We also established through expert testimony that the o-ring failure had nothing to do with something the manufacturer did or failed to do. We argued that the manufacturer exercised ordinary care in the design of the Chute so that it would be reasonably safe for the use for which it was intended or which could reasonably be anticipated.

Pete has focused primarily on tax, financial, charitable, and estate planning for individuals (including wills, trusts, and probate) since 1971. Pete is a Certified Financial Planner, a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and the author and presenter of numerous continuing education programs for both lawyers and non-lawyers. He has been listed since inception in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of trusts and estates, tax law, and non-profit/charities law.

Josh works with clients to construct and implement estate plans to best meet their needs and transfer their wealth as efficiently as possible. He also has the experience necessary to walk his clients through the legal requirements and asset transfer process for an estate or trust administration. Josh's practice further focuses on corporation and LLC formation and maintenance, real estate transactions, and taxation issues.
