Clean Water Coalition coordinator, Nancy Oden, said, speaking for the Coalition, "We heartily thank our County Commissioners for looking at the facts and deciding what's best for Washington County's people, woods, waters, wildlife, and fisheries. Based on the unsuitability of the proposed site in Township 14, our County Commissioners have had the courage to come right out in opposition to a dump on top of an aquifer, next to significant wetlands, next to Class A salmon streams which lead to both Cathance and Gardner Lakes, and thence into our coastal fisheries. We're proud of them for taking this honest stance."
