Joe Cleary has deep roots in the union movement. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Joe worked in the union movement as an officer of United Auto Workers Local 1612 for over 20 years. He held various positions in the local union and was elected shop steward when he was 18 years old. Joe was a full-time Shop Chairman for the local for over 15 years. Joe graduated from St. Joseph’s University and Temple University Law School where he attended night school while holding his elected union office position and working at his plumber’s job at a Philadelphia automobile part manufacturing plant.

For over 30 years, Bill Josem has represented labor unions and employee benefit funds and handled complex and sophisticated litigation in the state and federal courts, as well as before the PLRB and the NLRB. A significant portion of Bill’s practice is devoted to the representation of Taft-Hartley Funds. Bill has counseled a number of major pension plans that have encountered serious funding and related problems and has represented those plans before the U.S. Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, the Internal Revenue Service, and in legal proceedings.

Marilyn has been actively engaged in the practice of law for over 30 years. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976 as a political science major and went on to graduate from Temple University School of Law in 1979. During law school, Marilyn worked at the Temple University Legal Clinic and at Community Legal Services, concentrating on representing victims of domestic violence. Upon graduation, Marilyn began her legal career in Ohio as an attorney for the Central Ohio Legal Aid Society.
