A Brief History Cleveaflex was founded in 1964 to manufacture preheater carburetor tubes. As fuel injected motors became the standard OEM engine, Clevaflex changed with the times and started to make tubing that is sold today in the automotive, industrial, and heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning markets. Clevaflex has the largest production facility in North America for wound tubing located in Cleveland, Ohio. Our products are manufactured using exclusively licensed technology and machinery from Westaflex, GmbH in Gutersloh, Germany. There are two distinctly different manufacturing processes that allow for tubing to be either thermally bonded or mechanically interlocked. Both of these processes produce a tube that will not unwind like many other wrapped tubes. The unique characteristics of our construction allows us to use our vast experience in constructing tubes to vary corrugation depth for strength, operate effectively under positive and negative pressures, and vary the elongation of the product, all too meet a customer specific application. This has led to the development of some thirty to forty products Clevaflex manufactures that range in size from one half inch to eighteen inches in diameter. Clevaflex can manufacture tubes with up to five different plies of material. Aluminum, Fiberglass, Colored Mylar, Stainless Steel, Paper, Carbon Steel, and Copper.
