Cleveland BioLabs (CBL) was formed in June 2003. In September, 2003 CBL started its operations, supported by a R&D contract from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF). The company attracted a number of highly prestigious grants from NASA, NIH and DARPA. This funding support, along with investments from a number of angel investors, allowed CBL to build a strong research team and optimize its lead compounds. Clinical evaluation of these compounds will be supported by the round A investment closed in March 2005.
