Description

The Cloyd Funeral Home opened to serve Central Montana on October 1, 1961. The building was built in the early 1950's and was the Georgiann Theatre owned by the Weidman Brothers. In the mid 1950's, it became the Fergus Theatre until closing in 1960. Jerry Cloyd then purchased the building and began the remolding project transforming a theatre to a funeral home. On October 1, 1961, the Cloyd Funeral Home opened with Jerry and his Uncle Wesley Cloyd operating the business with chapels in Stanford and Denton.
