Description

Coastal Zone Management is increasingly involved in the formulation and delivery of hands-on training schemes, stakeholder engagement and consultation processes. We also have extensive experience in communication, consultation and facilitation and have extended our training approach to encompass a more holistic view of capacity building by addressing change management and conflict resolution. We work in online and traditional media, and have extensive design and writing expertise.

The activities of WESROC council members are for the benefit of every citizen within their local communities. Through this project CZM will use their extensive experience in working with WA local governments and communities on adaptation planning.

CZM will be providing a range of consulting services to work with EMRC and its Member Councils. The Project is funded as part of the Australian Government’s Local Adaptation Pathways Programme.

Coastal Zone Management Principal, Dr Rob Kay, is currently working with the ADB to provide advice on opportunities for the integration of climate change factors into the Sustainable Coastal Protection and Management Investment Program in India. Key outcomes from the assignment will be the submission of project documents for approval by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project will involve field visits and engagement with key project stakeholders in Dehli, as well as the west coast states of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.

Working for the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF), CZM consultants Ania Niedzwiadek and Robert Kay reviewed outcomes from a stakeholder workshop ‘Bringing Adaptation to Life’ and synthesised outcomes into a series of principles to provide guidance to adaptation practitioners. Working with key industry representatives, a series of hypothetical storylines were developed which showed the principles in action in key marine industries, such as tourism, commercial fishing and aquaculture.
