Description

Central Orleans has been serving its members for 39 years but has accomplished the most in its last few years of service. We have grown from a one room, basic service credit union to a financial entity that offers multiple services and one-on-one service to its members. Starting out as Lipton's Credit Union in 1965, we merged with the State Correctional Credit Union and then later the Orleans County Credit Union to become a community charter that would serve all residents that worked or lived in the central part of the county. At this time the credit union was housed in a garage bay that had been converted to a small office, there were two employees, and we only offered basic savings that were dispersed by check as very little cash was handled at that time.
