A true family undertaking, Coco Loco was initially envisioned by Julio Guzman and Domingo Diaz, both of whom had food service backgrounds, after they decided that Atlantans deserved something different in food choices. They did research in the islands as well as other U.S. cities that support fine Cuban cuisine and based on research and knowledge, they hired a top-notch chef from Miami and opened their first Coco Loco in 1988. Coco Loco serves up such delicious specialties as their authentic Sangria and Cuban sandwich; Jerk chicken sandwiches or entrees marinated in a Jamaican Jerk sauce; the Picadillo sandwich, similar to a Sloppy Joe, featuring seasoned ground beef on Cuban bread; Enchilado de Camarones, an entre featuring tender shrimp sauted in Cuban creole sauce. Theres much more, too, to be tried at Coco Loco. The menu also includes such items as chicken salad sandwiches and hamburgers. Customers that enjoy their "everyday" items can take the plunge into the mouth-watering world of Cuban and Caribbean cuisine. Coco Loco is a restaurant not to be missed.
