Coffeemaria is a Microroaster for fine Arabica coffees in the Suburb of Chicago. Maria, my wife is from Guatemala and on one of our trips we went to see a friends coffee farm. I got a closer look and a lot of info about coffee how it is grown- picked and processed. One night we roasted a whole bunch of coffee and he asked me why I don't roast at home? So after our trip I bought a small batch coffee roaster and started to look for green coffee beans around in Chicago. Hardly no roaster wanted to sell me any green coffee beans and if only in larger quantities. Found a roaster who sold me a minimum of 25 lbs. and that was the point where it came to my mind there must be more people out there who try to roast their own coffee but have a hard time finding small amount of green coffee beans. So we started to sell green coffee on the Internet through ebay. During that time we where asked for roasted coffee. Well I bought a professional roaster and started to sell roasted coffee. We have build up a very nice repeating customer base since we started to sell roasted coffee. During our time in business we have received a few nice reviews on coffeereview.com and became roaster of the month on betterbeans.com. A couple of articles in the Chicago Tribune and Daily Herald also helped to our business exposure. Now we are at the point where we roast daily and also supplying the homeroaster with green coffee beans. ...
