Description

I have worked as a Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist for the past 24 years. I specialize in Cognitive Therapy. I am a Certified Affiliate with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, an international organization certifying Cognitive Therapists. I combine Cognitive Therapy with Mindfulness - Based Practices. I also use hypnosis, Lifespan Integration and practices from various cultures, to help people make desired changes in their lives. In my private practice, I work with a variety of people. I am competent in working with different cultural perspectives and views. Some of my clients see me for coaching on goal setting, problem solving, relationship issues, motivation, business or career questions. I work extensively with addiction, including alcohol, drug, eating related, and smoking cessation. Other clients see me for Depression, Anxiety, and family issues. In addition, I work with clients to change core beliefs formed in childhood (schema) to help them live happier lives. I counsel couples to teach them how to be respectful yet effective with one another, resolve issues without "caving in," express feelings, and make different choices.
