As a gateway, our VHN has been configured to support the exchange of health information for NwHIN purposes. Our NwHIN-compliant technology can be configured to provide services to support VA-DOD-Civilian Interoperability, the exchange of medical records with the Social Security Administration to expedite disability benefit claims, and the transmission of public health data to state public health agencies and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The possibilities for leveraging the VHN platform and its unique health information sharing and exchange capabilities are just now emerging.
