The Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations has been established to provide united voice for the New York Jewish Emigre Community from the Former Soviet Union and to coordinate the dynamic work of Jewish emigre Organizations and individual community leaders towards achieving the Jewish communal goals and caring those in need, strengthening bonds among the Jewish people and fostering Jewish identity and renewal. COJECO will strive to represent and advocate for Jewish emigre needs, concerns and priorities to the established New York Jewish community. As well as develop, coordinate and provide access to needed resources and program activities among member organizations. It will foster communication and partnerships between member organizations and the established Jewish community, particularly, UJA-Federation and its network, as well as the larger New York community and provide conflict resolution services when needed and appropriate. COJECO will assist member organizations in becoming vital Jewish institutions that offer quality Jewish religious and cultural experiences to their community. COJECO reaffirms its commitment to its member organizations and will work with them to serve the Russian speaking Jewish community of New York.
