Description

The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies was established to provide graduate-level education to meet the need for highly qualified biomedical teachers and research workers in the rapidly expanding health care field. Goals of the school have been enlarged to provide graduate education for specialized clinical and administrative services in health care. SPGS programs of study are designed to prepare a student for a lifetime of scholarly pursuits in life sciences, teaching, administration and care.

Phone: (847) 578-3314 E-mail: amy.pabst@rosalindfranklin.edu Amy Pabst, M.D. practiced Family Medicine for fifteen years in various venues before coming to work at RFUMS. Her experience in clinical medicine helps with her role in the Education and Evaluation Center where she writes cases for and helps train the standardized patients. She also serves as a liaison between the EEC and the lab sessions for the Essentials of Clinical Reasoning courses. She enjoys working with students and is currently enrolled in classes toward a Masters in Health Professions Education.

As of July 1, 2005, the Department is headed by a new Chair, Dr. Bala Chandran and a significant expansion of the department is underway. In addition to the existing laboratories, a new research floor of about 16,000 square feet with state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities has been completed and is currently occupied .

Student Financial Services is dedicated to providing students with efficient, courteous and responsible financial services, while complying with all Federal and State laws as well as University policies.

The Office of Faculty Development located within the Office of Faculty Affairs endeavors to provide the University’s faculty with programs, resources and networking opportunities that support multi-faceted academic roles including teaching, scholarship, and leadership. The Office seeks to fulfill the University’s commitment to academic and clinical excellence by developing teachers, scholars and researchers at all academic career levels.
