Description

CAC is a tuition-free, Jefferson County Public Schools charter school. Charter schools are authorized by state law and approved by the local Board of Education. We receive public funding, but may receive waivers from the Board of Education's policies and procedures. We have our governing body, the CAC Board of Directors. We determine our own enrollment, in accordance with the terms of our charter school contract. Originally granted a charter in 1994 as a school for grades 7-12, we now serve grades K-12. We deliver an educational program grounded in high academic standards. Our innovative approach blends traditional skills with exploration and application. We promote a positive school, family, and community partnership. Our school operates as "three schools within one school."
