Common Pantry

Description

The Common Pantry was born in 1967 in Lincoln Park. During the second half of the 1960's successful attempts to serve the needs of what had become a changing neighborhood took place. Through the joint efforts of Lincoln Park and Lakeview churches, who were members of The Northside Cooperative Ministry (NSCM), the Common Pantry was founded and first located at St. Pauls Church. It provided emergency food for the poor and later moved its location to better serve the neighborhoods where there was the most need.
