Our 2nd annual wheelchair wash took place this month at Lowe’s. We set up our tent, provided water to thirsty customers, and had soap buckets and brushes in hand! We announced to the public that everyone with a wheelchair was welcome to come by for a free wheelchair cleaning; no matter where they purchased the chair. Customers read about the event in the newspaper and in our newsletters that we mailed in the statements and to our wheelchair patients. It was a beautiful day and much cooler than last year’s event. We were able to help people who would otherwise have no means to clean their own chairs. This makes a huge impact to those who use wheels rather than legs and stay in their chairs all day. Our customers, some old and some new that day, were very grateful for our service to the community. We were set up right by the front door, so the Lowe’s shoppers also were able to see what we were doing for free for the community.
