History Founded in 1984 by Arthur Alvis in the basement of his house in Wichita, KS, Commtech originally designed software for the IBM PC. In 1985, Commtech became a hardware manufacturer by introducing the FASTCOM4™, one of the first high speed, multi-port serial adapters for the IBM PC. Commtech hired its first employee in 1986 to help Arthur hand solder the new FASTCOM® boards. During the next few years, Commtech rented office space and added new employees and equipment. Commtech began to develop its industrial/commercial customer base, focusing on high speed data communication adapters.

Manufacturing Commtech, Inc. has been designing and manufacturing its own line of FASTCOM® communication adapters for Industrial/Commercial and OEM customers since its founding in 1985. We offer contract manufacturing of PC boards and off-the-shelf adapters that are reliable, high-performance, temperature and vibration tolerant, and electrically isolated. Commtech has been identified as a critical part of the DoD Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) supply chain.

Orders can be placed directly with Commtech or with any of our sales representatives. In fact, many of our representatives maintain a local stock in order to provide fast local delivery. Orders may be placed by mail, telephone, or sent via fax. Please confirm telephone orders by a written purchase order. We provide shipping via Airborne, DHL, Fed Ex, and UPS. Unless specifically requested otherwise, UPS Ground delivery will be used. Shipping charges will be prepaid and added to the invoice. All prices are FOB origin in Wichita, Kansas.
