Description

CAP's mission is to help families in economic need achieve self-sufficiency. We provide a variety of services to the low-income community. Some of our programs focus on advancing the education and school readiness of very young children (ages 0-5). Some focus on improving the financial circumstances and economic independence of families with young children. Others focus on ensuring that these children and families live in safe, secure, nurturing communities. Our range of services includes early childhood education (Head Start and Early Head Start); safe & affordable rental housing and renovated homes for sale; a first-time homebuyers support & education program; financial education; income tax preparation assistance; screening and application assistance for public benefit programs (such as Food stamps & Medicaid); and policy analysis and advocacy. Our programs are administered by more than 400 staff members and are supported by approximately 900 dedicated volunteers every year. Of every dollar in funding that CAP receives, 92 cents goes directly to client services; only 8 cents is used to cover administrative costs. In addition to the programs that CAP administers, we work hand-in-hand with other Tulsa area agencies to address community needs, and believe strongly in the power of joint partnerships. Our goal is to continually develop programs that respond to the changing needs of our clients and of the greater Tulsa community...
