Community Forklift, LLC

Description

COMMUNITY FORKLIFT is the DC metro area's new and used building materials store, located in greater Hyattsville. We are operated by a nonprofit organization, Sustainable Community Initiatives. We look for businesses which have reusable building materials to discard. By donating materials to COMMUNITY FORKLIFT, businesses: - receive a tax deduction - avoid the costly hassles of dumping - free up space We then promote those businesses to our loyal customers and supporters. We aim to reduce waste by keeping reusable building materials out of the landfill, and to lift up local communities by making building repairs affordable for homeowners, nonprofit housing groups, and small businesses. Our proceeds will support job training, small business incubation, and public education about green building. COMMUNITY FORKLIFT accepts building materials and appliances in good condition during store hours: Thursday - Saturday 8 am to 4 pm; & Wednesday 12 to 7 pm. We accept: - Flooring - Doors - Windows - Paint - Lighting - Stone - Lumber - Brick - Plumbing - Roofing - Insulation - Radiators - Appliances - Cabinets
