Our philosophy is to bring the home care pharmacist into the home. Our pharmacist's all have Doctorates in Pharmacy. This was the original concept for home infusion therapy. The education of the Doctor of Pharmacy (aka PharmD) is the same as a Medical Doctor except it is in the specialty of pharmacy. They complete clinical internships in intensive care units, burn units and even home infusion. We believe, through direct interaction between the Clinical Pharmacist and the patient, in coordination of care with the doctor, the home infusion nurse and the case manager, we achieve significantly better outcomes and results for our patients. Our History and Our Management... Established in 1994, Community Infusion was formed by the originators of home infusion. The owners, two Pharmacists and one Registered Nurse took their first patient home from the hospital in 1976, started the first infusion company, wrote the policies for home infusion that create the base for all Home Infusion Companies today. They were the corporate leaders of the the large infusion providers. Believing that the expertise belonged in the local markets, and being satisfied with the rewards or great patient outcomes, they left the corporate office to take care of patients on a local level and provide a higher level of care than the larger companies.
