Community Rebuilders

Community Rebuilders has a history of working with people who do not qualify for other housing. Community Rebuilders is the only transitional housing agency in the city that takes single men who are head of a household, or families with children of any age. Community Rebuilders does not require any amount of “clean time” for people with substance abuse issues. In fact we accept people right out of rehab programs, as long as they are willing to remain active in a substance abuse counseling program. We also serve extremely low-income families, as we do not require a minimum income to enter our transitional housing program. In over 10 years of operation, Community Rebuilders has become well equipped and experienced in administering scattered site housing, and collaborating with other experienced service providers.Community Rebuilders takes risks by accepting families into residency who have such poor credit or rental history that no commercial landlords will rent to them. Some of our participants are in poverty because of circumstances they could not control. Others have been trapped in chronic poverty because of a lifestyle of self-destructive choices. Our participants are among the poorest in the city.
